Wi-Fi and Network Configuration
Find your device address and diagnose local networking without changing unrelated protections.
Use the network settings supported by your device and installed operating system. Wi-Fi bands, setup screens and network interfaces vary by product; this guide does not assume a universal THOX network admin page.
Before you start
Confirm that the device supports the network method you intend to use. Have the authorized network name and credentials ready, and check the router or network administrator requirements.
Connect and verify the address
Use the supported device or operating-system settings to join the network. Where supported, Ethernet can help separate a Wi-Fi problem from a service problem.
Record the address shown by the setup flow or router client list. Test the specific service address and port supplied for your deployment. Do not assume that thox.local resolves or that every device listens on port 8080.
If the device is not reachable
Check that both endpoints have network connectivity and are on networks allowed to communicate. Guest networks, access-point isolation and managed network rules can prevent local access.
Ask the network administrator to check the relevant rule. Do not disable the firewall or expose an admin service to the public internet as a diagnostic shortcut.
If MeshStack says Connecting
Website sign-in or an online control plane is separate from the peer tunnel. A Running adapter with a Connecting peer does not show that the peer connection has completed.
Follow the supported OS permission and elevation flow. Keep UAC and firewall protections enabled, and record other VPNs or adapters for support instead of removing them automatically.
What to send to support
Include the device model, app and OS versions, the connection state and the failure time. Redact passwords, API keys, session tokens and unrelated network details.
